Earlier this week, I had a conversation with my father who wanted to know what the heck the deal was with this Joe Dirt stuff. He wondered if we were done with the whole "2012" thing, and the answer to that question was no. We'll going back to the 2012 Zombie Apocalypse theme as soon as we're doing celebrating Joe Dirt week. It's a tradition for us here at The J-FP to honor the greatness that is Joe Dirt on the 4th of July, but to those of you who are new J-Fans, you probably don't know why. Luckily for you, I'm here to help with that. Click the link below to find out why exactly we celebrate the story of Joe Dirt.
The story of Joe Dirt is amazing. It's basically the story of how his quest to find his parents has dictated the choices of his life and how you have to follow your dreams. Rather than go into the details about the film, let's talk about the character of Joe. As a kid he was always trying to impress his dad...

His seperation from his parents didn't get him down too much, which demonstrates that he has a great deal of inner strength. Not only that, but young Joe Dirt knew that he had to keep his mind occupied and entertained in order to ward of depression...

As Joe grew into adulthood, he learned that he could make friends with all sorts of people. Joe didn't care who you were or what walk of life had led you to him. Even when people tried to keep him down, Joe would rise up and keep his spirits high. He recognized that sometimes you just have to sit back and enjoy the finer things in life. That's just the kind of guy he is. Afterall, nothin' can quite compare with being in "Burger Heaven"...

...come to think of it though, if Burger Heaven is eating a burger and fries of a giant piece of feces then you can count me out. And if that's burger heaven then what's burger hell?!
That isn't to say that Joe Dirt always made the right choices. There are times in everyone's lives when we make mistakes. Joe taught us that you can come back from mistakes...

Most of all though, Joe taught us that giving up is never an option. Even when you think you've lost everyone you've ever cared about, or finding out that your meteor friend isn't actually a meteor at all, you shouldn't give up. Things will work out. Even if your favorite dog gets shot, or your car gets impounded, you can come back from pretty much anything...

And THAT, J-Fans is why we celebrate the life of Joe Dirt at this time of year. He's a shining example of perseverance and dedication in the face of ridculously overwhelming odds. Joe Dirt went from being a nobody to being a somebody that had everything he ever wanted...

...oh and he also walked away with that hottie Brandy. Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang!
